Band Blast Off is the fifteenth episode in Season 2 of Make It Pop.
Plot[]
The Band Blast judges pair rival bands for a "band duet" challenge, but XO-IQ and L3 can't seem to work well together, but off-stage shenanigans occur and cause problems.

All the bands gather as the head Band Blast judge, Franz, the head judge, pairs rival bands for a "band duet" challenge. XO-IQ and L3 get paired together but none of the members seemed happy with such a decision. However, if anyone refuses to do the duet challenge will result in automatic disqualification. Both bands are arguing on what song to do, but both of them can't seem to come to a compromise.The band mentor for the "band duet" challenge for XO-IQ and L3 is celebrity nicknamed "Ginger Snaps" arrives. Meanwhile, Heather and Valerie prepare to cheer on XO-IQ and L3 as part of the spirit squad as they are representing Mackendrick Prep. Jared comes along but he is only interested in supporting Corki. He comes in saying cheers about Corki, waving a flag and blowing a horn. Ginger Snaps is giving the teens a lecture on how to create great music and working together. Jared's noise continues further and Corki has to leave to talk to him. Corki rushes in to meet Jared and tells him to stop with his "Jaredness" and leaves. Jared doesn't stop doing what he is doing. The security guard comes along, saying that Jared's noise is disturbing the contestants and himself and proceeds to throw Jared, Heather and Valerie out of the confines of the stage. Caleb and Jodi try to plead their case with Franz, but every time Caleb accidentally mucks it up by making fun of his accent and where he was from. Ginger Snaps is lecturing Sun Hi and Linc because they keep arguing. He tells them that how can they except to sing together if they can't talk to each other. Ginger Snaps had enough of the rocky relationship with both bands and told them to work on their stage presences. Jared, Heather and Valerie try to get back to the stage area, but only Jared was excluded because Valerie and Heather got in because they had disguises. Caleb and Jodi tried talking to Franz another shot. Caleb apologizes to him and all he wanted was to give XO-IQ a fair shot. Caleb accidentally tries to bride Franz, he gets angry again, and tells them to leave him. Both bands are on stage and the arguments between Sun Hi and Linc still continue as they waste their rehearsal time. Linc drags Sun Hi backstage telling her that these arguments have gone long enough, they need to pull together and the competition is at stake. Sun Hi agrees, but Linc relents back saying that he is glad that Sun Hi came to her senses saying that she was gonna ruin for him. Sun Hi was surprised that he said and walks back on stage. Reluctantly Linc and Sun Hi perform together along with their bands but the is obvious and relationships between the two bands is obviously strained. Tension increases as Linc and Sun Hi argue about who gets to have the lead. Midway during the practice performance, Linc and Sun Hi go backstage to talk things out so that their performance can be improved. Both of them say similar things to each other - Linc says that Sun Hi wasn't concentrating because she kept looking at him and Sun Hi said that Linc isn't concentrating because he keeps on looking at her. Their eyes meet and then they kiss but not before the other members of XO-IQ and L3 catch them doing so. Ginger Snaps gets really angry when he finds out that Linc and Sun Hi kissed during the performance and says that since both of them weren't concentrating. He gives an order that he is giving the leads to Alex and Corki. Linc and Sun Hi are shocked and they claimed that they should be the leads because they are the leaders of their bands respectively. Jared gets caught in his squirrel suit trying to sneak in. Jared tries to find a way back in the stage so he takes the stairs leading to the bottom of the stage. Linc and Sun Hi turn up ready to do their solos because they say that they have made up already, but the other members of their bands say that Corki and Alex should do the solos because they actually practiced really hard on doing it. Jodi gives both Linc and Sun Hi a death stare saying that they do their parts to back Alex and Corki up. XO-IQ and L3 perform together with Corki and Alex singing the lead parts and Sun Hi and Linc dance together while doing back up. Jared sneaks onto the stage through a passageway that leads to the front of the stage. At the end of their performance he appears onstage and everyone, particularly Corki is really annoyed and embarrassed with him. The head band blast judge gives XO-IQ and L3 a (8 out of 10) for performance but an -3 for group work. Because of the commotion caused during rehearsal time. Both bands discussed that their only chance of winning is to kill their next and final performance tomorrow. Jared calls Corki, but she doesn't want to talk at the moment. Upon getting their score, Linc and Sun Hi both say that they will do their best to win Band Blast, no matter what. Later Sun Hi and Jodi are stretching in the hallway and Sun Hi complains that they only got so bad because Caleb offended the head Band Blast judge but Jodi defends him by saying that he meant well. Then Sun Hi blames Linc by saying that he kissed her so it was his fault technically, not noticing the meaningful glance that Jodi shot in her direction. Corki comes up to girls states that she wants to break up with Jared. She wants to do it because Jared knew how important the performance was to her. She warned him not to interfere but he didn't listen and his "Jaredness" just causes problems. Sun Hi and Jodi claims Jared's "Jaredness" is the reason why Corki likes him. Corki agrees, but it gets to a point where she can't bear it anymore and it's just too much. Jodi asked her if she is sure she wants to do this and Sun Hi tells her to maybe give her some time to think about this. The episode ends with Corki having a big decision on her mind. |
